WOMEN’S DAY VENDOR FEATURE- FREEYUMM

In honour of Women’s Day, we are highlighting some of our amazing women lead vendors that we have here at Spud.ca. Let us introduce you to Sarah from FreeYumm

What was your inspiration for starting up FreeYumm?

My Son was my inspiration. Seeing him excluded from sharing food with friends was an everyday experience and it was difficult to watch. And it wasn’t just my son… there are so many kids now that have various and numerous food restrictions and they were all being left out. I was determined to find a fun, healthy way to make delicious food inclusive!

What is your creative process? How do you decide what to feature/create?

My inspiration simply comes from watching what other “normal” families get to enjoy. I then figure out a way of creating an equally delicious FreeYumm product. For instance, we just introduced some AMAZING Crunchy Chocolate Bites. My family was tired of going to the movies and not being able to enjoy a really good chocolate treat! Now we are all addicted to our Chocolate Bites, and happily munching our ways through the movies😊

If you could tell yourself one thing before you started your business now, what would it be?

Stay nimble and be innovative. We are really excited for our new Crunchy Chocolate Bites, plus our new “Insert Secret Here!” in 2020. Our customers trust FreeYumm and love the fact that we are expanding the list of food options available to them.

What do you hope to be instilling in your customers through their purchase of FreeYumm?

I hope that our customers experience a little joy with FreeYumm. The guiding principle motivating our work is the Value of Inclusiveness, and this translates into the importance of making inclusive choices. I sincerely hope that we are instilling a culture of inclusiveness and joy with our customers.

Last but not least, what is your favourite treat from FreeYumm?

Oh no!!! That is so hard!!!

The Raspberry Chia is my favourite Bar.…. but the new Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie is so awesome…. and I have to confess that I eat the new Crunchy Chocolate Bites almost everyday now!!!
