5 THINGS FOR YOU AND THE FAMILY TO DO WHEN PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING

To keep you happy, productive, and distracted, here are five ways that you and your family can stay busy.

1. Make something from scratch that you’ve never tried before

How many times have you watched a cooking or baking tutorial video and told yourself you’d master the recipe the next time you had free time? Well, there is no better time than right now. Check out Spud.ca’s blog for endless recipes for homemade bread, beauty remedies, or how to properly jar fruits and vegetables!

2. Tie dye clothing with natural dyes

Bring out your creative side using natural ingredients found in your kitchen! You will need: (1) a pair of socks or a t-shirt that could use a colourful upgrade, (2) newspaper to contain any possible spills or splatters (3) rubber bands to twist and hold your clothing to create interesting patterns (3) the dyes! Check out this blog to learn how to make certain colours.

3. Plant a garden

Social distancing doesn’t necessarily mean you have to stay indoors! Whether you have the yard space for a garden bed or just a small patio, there is always room for a plant or two. This will keep yourself or your kids busy for quite some time depending on how big you want your garden project to be. To get you started, here are some easy plants to grow at home.

4. Play Stay-At-Home bingo

Print out our Stay-At-Home bingo board for kids or use the format and make your own!

5. Conduct the spring cleaning of your dreams

Springtime is here and this year you may actually just have the time and motivation to do the deep clean you’ve always wanted. Start with one room of the house and go from there! Check out our natural, two ingredient house cleaning solution here.
