Don’t know about you, but right about now we’re a bit burnt out in the kitchen department. We’ve done the big meal and all the trimmings, but somehow there are still people in our home in holiday mode expecting something more!
Fear not, we’ve got some great ideas to get some quick nourishment together that will leave you with some time to finally get started on that book you received, take a long walk, bath, or nap, or whatever you do for your sanity in your downtime!
And YES! Nachos can be dinner! And NO! – you don’t need to feel guilty when they’re made with some delicious, and nutritious ingredients!
Appetizer Platters
Why not toss up a salad, or put out some veggies and dip, and serve an appetizer platter that people can choose their favourites from?
We’d combine some items like dumplings, meatballs, falafels, samosas, perogies and some chicken wings with hot sauce.
Nacho Night
When done right, Nachos could be the star of the holiday season. We’re thinking about fresh tortilla chips topped with black beans, corn, jalapenos, peppers, tomatoes, olives, and of course cheese. Go crazy and add pulled pork, ground beef or chicken and don’t forget the salsa, guacamole, and sour cream! No one will complain as long as you spread the cheese out evenly.
Pizza Night
Sure, you can order in, but why not create your own pizzas at home? Put out a prepared crust and let people top their own or order our ready-to-bake editions.
