BANANA Milk

More and more alternative milks are being introduced to the market to cater to vegans and dairy intolerants alike. Even coffee shops are adopting a wide array of milks: almond, rice, coconut, soy, even cashew milk. But what if you’re allergic to nuts? Or tired of the soy milk that’s been on the market for ever? That really doesn’t leave many other options. It’s time for you to meet banana milk.

You’re probably already eating bananas anyways. Did you know that bananas are the most consumed fruit in the world? We grab them on the go in the morning, eat them as workout snacks, and use them in our smoothies. And since they’re so healthy—high in potassium, vitamin B6, vitamin C, manganese, and magnesium—why not make milk out of them?

It’s really easy. And all you really need are just two ingredients: banana and water. You can also add flavourings like cinnamon, cocoa powder, maple syrup, or vanilla extra to make it your own. A pinch of salt will also enhance the flavours. Here’s a recipe that’s perfect for fall!

Banana Milk Recipe

What you need:

1 banana

1 cup water

Dash of cinnamon

Pinch of salt

How to prepare:

Simply combine all ingredients in a blender and blend it until it’s smooth to desired consistency. A frozen banana or some ice may also make it extra refreshing, especially as a post-workout beverage!

I definitely think we need more fruit-based milks on the market. It’s perfect for everyone, especially for vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, raw, and paleo diets! Besides, if you’re making banana milk at home, you know exactly what’s going into your body. But remember to choose organic bananas; did you know that choosing organic can help save the world?

What are your thoughts on the new banana milk? Think you’ll try it, or stick with your usual go-to’s?
