Have you ever thought about getting involved in your local women’s centre, but weren’t sure how?
Here’s your chance. We’ve partnered with four organizations in BC and Alberta that are doing amazing work to support female empowerment in your community, and we need your help! From May 15th – 29th, we will be collecting some of their most wishlisted items through a Spud bin drive. Find out which items we’re collecting in your area below!
How do the Spud bin drives work?
A few times per year, we partner up with an organization in each of our four locations, and host a drive with our customers to collect items that our partners can use to better serve their communities. We love that our drives allow us to connect with our customers, and work collaboratively with them to make a positive impact in our shared community.
How can I help?
It’s simple. Anytime between May 15th – 29th, place your donations inside of your Spud bin, then put it out for pick-up as you regularly would. When our drivers come to pick up the bins and deliver them back to the warehouse, we’ll collect all donations, then deliver them to our partnered organization on behalf of our customers.
Who are we supporting, and what are we collecting?
We have partnered with one organization in each of the Spud locations across BC and Alberta. Each of these organizations offer their own unique programming, but all operate with a focal mission on empowering local women. Depending on the needs specific to their area, each organization has given us a list of wishlisted items they need.
*All items new and unused please!
*Please do not donate anything that’s not on this list, as our partners have limited storage space.

What will the donations be used for?
You’ll notice that many of the items on the collection lists are toiletries. Many women who visit women’s centres are in need of these items whether for health and wellness reasons, job interviews, to better support their children, or simply for ‘feel good’ purposes. Other items, such as baby toiletries, are often in short supply at women’s centres while still being urgently needed by new mothers. If you’re interested in learning more about what each of these organizations do, check out their websites for more info!
Other ways to help?
There are always other ways to give and get involved. Check out the website’s of our partners to find out more about their programs, how they help, and what you can do to support their efforts.
We hope you’ll take the time to contribute one or a few items on our collection lists—when it comes to a bin drive, there are no small donations!
