Whether you’re greeting it with happiness or resentment, soup season is upon us! Check out this guest blog from Connor Meakin of Pure Bone Broth:
My goal with Pure Bone Broth is to help people. Growing up I always wanted to do something that made a difference in people’s lives.
Our western palate is dominated by convenience and fast food. This led a whole generation of people to consume highly processed foods which are comprised of sugar and vegetable oils. As a result, obesity, diabetes, and all metabolic diseases are skyrocketing. It’s up to our generation to do something about it.
For me, Pure Bone Broth is the culmination of a frustrating two-year journey back to health . You see, much to our chagrin, we’re not all invincible. I learned this the hard way during the summer of 2014.
I’m a competitive mountain ultra-marathon runner. And 2014 was meant to be a banner year of running for me. I enjoyed early success, winning races and feeling amazing in the process, which motivated me to want more. Work hard right?
Things completely derailed soon after as injuries and other health issues threw my life completely off track. My body was broken.
Standard rehab and medical approaches yielded little progress, so I started experimenting functional medicine-based approach.
One experiment centered around the regular consumption of bone broths. I read all I could about concocting the best bone broth available.
The more I learned, the more I was amazed.
Used by just about every ancient culture and civilization, bone broth’s track record alone makes it worthy of your attention.
The health claims of bone broth zealots were so outrageous that I thought it was a joke… or that these snake oil salesmen were crafty marketers.
Cooking weekly batches, I drank bone broth like water. I couldn’t get enough of it.
After two months, things started to change.
Fast forward to now, my body is not fully healed but I finally have some answers to the questions that have been plaguing me for a year and a half.
While I know that I can’t give all the credit to bone broth, it has played a significant role in helping my body heal.
I started Pure Bone Broth to help you! We all have issues, aches, and pains. Regular consumption of bone broths may help, it may not.
But what I hope it does is inspire you to take your health into your own hands.
