Stay Sharp And Hydrated With Detox Water

“Don’t forget to drink water.” It’s been repeated too many times. We’ve heard the same line over and over again our entire life, yet somehow we still manage to neglect to drink an adequate daily amount of water.  Not only do we need water to survive, it is the one thing that can seamlessly keep our mind clear and sharp throughout the day. So if you’re someone who constantly forgets to drink water, there are some recipes that can entice your cravings and enhance your health. And if you’re someone who does get enough water, well, why not enhance it and give it detox benefits with your favourite flavours? 

Try these detox water combinations to stay sharp and healthy.

1. Lemon Citrus Water

Lemon water the most basic one in the book, but it’s also one that really works well with everyone. Don’t limit to just lemon, though. Add other delicious citrus fruits like grapefruits and oranges to your water for an ultimate boost of vitamin C.  Learn about the hidden benefits of Lemon Water. 

2. Chia Lime Water

Chia seeds are one of the most popular superfoods, and for good reasons! They’re packed with protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and fibre. Not to mention the jelly-like consistency makes them fun to drink! Use one tablespoon of chia seeds per 12 ounces of water. Add a squeeze of lime juice and some sweetener.

3. Summer Punch Water

Regardless of what season it is, everyone always seems to be craving summer flavours. Cut up slices of cucumbers, grapefruit, orange, and lemon, and add them to your water with some mint. The combination of nutrients and antioxidants will surely keep your body healthy and your head cool.

4. Apple Cinnamon Water

Is there a better way to have dessert all day? Dice up some apple with the skin on, then add it to your water with a cinnamon stick. Let the flavours infuse overnight then enjoy it the next day. Both apple and cinnamon are known to have powerful nutrients and antioxidants. Try to skip the sugar, but if you must make it dessert-y, a little won’t hurt.

5. Mango Coconut Water

You already know coconut water has more potassium than banana, and is known for its extraordinary hydrating properties. Add some mangos for that antioxidant boost. And a squeeze of lime for vitamin C. If these flavours are tasting too close to home—I mean, the bar—go ahead and add some mint for that tropical mojito, virgin.

6. Berry Medley Water

This one is too easy. Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, whatever berries you like. Throw them in the water. We don’t have to explain this one—which berry isn’t considered a healthy food?

7. Strawberry Kiwi Water

Nothing goes hand-in-hand like the flavours of strawberry and kiwi. A little sweet, a little tart, and a lot of deliciousness. These two fruits are super healthy and packed with vitamins and antioxidants. You’ll definitely want a few bottles of these.

8. Ginger Turmeric Lemon Water

Lemon? A water essential. Ginger? An antioxidant classic. Turmeric? A real trump card. Turmeric not only contains powerful antioxidants, but it also helps the body better absorb antioxidants. And ginger, of course, is a natural antibiotic. Give the lemon a nice real squeeze for a boost of vitamin C and flavour, and you’ve got possibly the best detox water.
