I love Kombucha. It’s sweet, fizzy and above all, healthy. If you, like me, have promised yourself to eat healthier in 2016, kombucha is definitely something you should be adding to your weekly grocery list. Here’s why:

Probiotics: Kombucha is a live, raw food. The particles that accumulate at the bottom of the bottle are the probiotic culture that ferment the beverage and help keep your gut flora balanced. Be brave and make sure you drink them!

Digestion: Due to the high amount of probiotic culture found in the drink, your digestion will greatly benefit if you drink kombucha on a regular basis (I do it daily!). For those of you doubting the research, try it for yourself. You’ll notice the difference.

Immune health: 70% of your immune system is located around your gut. Consuming probiotic foods on a regular basis will help contribute to a healthier gut flora, which in turn strengthens the immune system.

Detox: The liver is one of the body’s main detoxification organs. Kombucha is high in Glucaric acid, which is beneficial to the liver and aids its natural detoxification.

Another reason: we’ve got Brew Dr. Kombucha on special this week at Spud.ca
