Meadow Creek Farms was born out of the desire to connect Alberta consumers directly with quality meat and vegetable producers. The “good food” movement is well underway in Alberta and consumers are increasingly seeking local, sustainable food sources.
Mandy Melnyk, Owner & Farmer at Meadow Creek Farms, grew up on a family farm near Waskatenau, Alberta. From an early age, she learned the value of hard work and the importance of family farms and local food.
Organic Vegetables: Meadow Creek Farms is committed to complying with organic farming practices. They do not spray chemicals to kill weeds or add fertilizer that is not organic based (manure). They give all our weeds and veggie tops to their hogs, turkeys and chickens. They love all the extra greens.
Mandy and Meadow Creek are also involved in E4C’s YEG Carrot Project that provides locally grown organic vegetables for 23 Edmonton schools.
