The kosher diet is a set of Jewish dietary practices. Proponents avoid consuming pork, shellfish, most insects, and mixtures of meat and milk. There are also laws regarding agricultural produce. Over the last century, kosher foods have become more widely available as certification has become more common. Many of the great products that you consume every day are kosher—check for the hechsher symbol (a U inside a circle) on the packaging.
