  • Author: Zoey Jones

Ingredients

Scale

1/4 tsp of crushed red pepper flakes

1 small yellow onion finely chopped

228 onz can of diced tomatoes

1 lb ground pork

Splash of Red wine

4 tbsp of Be Fresh Extra Virgin Olive oil

1 tsp of salt and pepper and more to taste

1 tbsp fresh chopped basil

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tbsp salt

1 lb dried spaghetti

Instructions

In a large pot over medium heat, add your olive oil, red pepper flakes, onions and garlic. Cook for about 4-5 minutes or until the onions begin to soften. Add your ground pork and break up into small pieces and brown all the way through. Add a splash of red wine to deglaze the pot and get all the good brown bits off the bottom of the pot.

Add your canned diced tomatoes and stir and add your seasonings, basil, salt and dried oregano and stir well.

Cover the pot and turn the heat down to low and allow to gently simmer for at least 30 minutes until the liquid has evaporated and you have a thick meat sauce in the pot. Taste and season to perfection. While the sauce is simmering prepare the pasta with instructions on the package (don’t forget to salt your water!)

Serve and enjoy!
