Fiona Forbes

“I feel so lucky to do what I do for a living.”

Fiona, who is best known for her many years on Shaw TV’s THE RUSH, is now hosting her new show aptly titled “FionaForbes” and she loves her work: “I get to meet so many interesting people every day and hear their stories. I’ve lost count, but I think I’ve interviewed over 25,000 people over the last 18 years!”

Since the early days of her career when Regis Philbin told her “You’ve got something kid!”, she knew that making a turn (on a whim) in her career choice felt right.

While Fiona loves her work, her passion lies with supporting many charities with her talents. Among her favorites are the CKNW Orphan’s Fund, Pink Shirt Day, Ronald McDonald House, Variety Club, Timmy’s Telethon and Easter Seals. Fiona is also proud to be an Ambassador for Habitat For Humanity’s Women Build.

What’s your favourite indulgence? EVERYTHING! Kidding! Honestly, I’m trying to eat healthy and fruit is my favourite thing at the moment. Also love a little decadence… a great steak, cheeses or a little dark chocolate and peanut butter/chocolate coconut ice cream!
What are the top five items you look for when you grocery shop? Good quality meats – boneless chicken breast, steak and fish, as well as fresh fruit (tropical fruits/grapes especially.) I also love cheese.
What are some of your staple snacks/meals?I make a lot of chicken dishes, pastas (using brown rice pastas), soups and veggie dishes. For snacks I like more savoury than sweet.
Who is in your household that you buy groceries for?Just me and my tiny 5lb dog.
What other causes/events do you support?Oh tons! Here’s a select few: CKNW Orphan’s Fund, Pink Shirt Day, Ronald McDonald House, Variety Club, Timmy’s Telethon and Easter Seals
