Chino Valley Ranchers has been producing quality eggs for more than 40 years. They focus a great deal of attention on the care and feeding of their flocks. Their aim is to keep their chickens healthy, happy, and stress-free.
The ranch is nestled in the picturesque rolling hills of Southern California. The hens are housed in a valley, next to a free running stream, and the water for the ranch is drawn from Chino Valley Ranchers own well’s clean, natural water from deep in the earth.
“Cage Free” eggs from Chino Valley Ranchers mean that the flocks are not kept in small cages as are most commercial hens in egg production. Environmentally-controlled “community houses” are manitained where the chickens have the freedom to roam the floor of the houses. These houses have ample floor space and poles with roosting and nesting areas, like the hen houses “back home on the farm.” This is done to reduce the stress that would be an inherent part of an overcrowded cage operation.
The houses are environmentally controlled to eliminate contact with any infectious influence. Often, infected wild fowl migrate between other ranches to eat and drink from troughs of egg producing ranches. In order to minimize physical contact by internal ranch help, automatic feeders, waterers and egg gathering equipment are used. This is done to reduce the risk of infection or disease to flocks. In this way, CVR helps to eliminate the need for antibiotics. Also, hormones are never used.
