1. SOUP AND SANDWICH
Sure, you might live in a world where you bake sourdough bread and make soup from scratch. But if you’re like the rest of us, it only takes a minute to elevate your store-bought soup and bread to something special.

For your soup:
Add a splash of dairy, a handful of fresh herbs, a spoonful of lemon or vinegar, a drizzle of a flavoured oil, or freshly grated cheese to top your soup. It’s a little thing, but the little things make all the difference.

For your bread:
Make a herbed lemon butter ahead of time. Toast your bread in the office toaster, and slather on your spread. You’ll thank yourself for your foresight.

2. SARDINES ON TOAST
Your coworkers might hate you momentarily for eating fish at work, but only until you offer them a taste! This delicious lunch packs in the brain-healthy fats, so you’ll be extra clever in your afternoon board meeting.Get the recipe here.

3. PIZZA
No, definitely not takeout. Top bread or a bagel with ricotta cheese, tomato slices, the last of the season’s basil, and your favorite olive oil. Pop it into the toaster oven. Enjoy.

4. HARD BOILED EGGS
Precook a batch of eggs over the weekend, then add them to toast, salad, quinoa, or lentils. Season with a drizzle of salad dressing and the salt and pepper you’ve stashed in your drawer. Enjoy an afternoon free of hunger.Haven’t mastered boiled eggs? Check out this guide to perfection from Food52.
