Some of our prices are going up. Here’s why.

As a sustainable company with a strong ethos for sourcing the best products with the lowest carbon foot print, we currently face two road blocks affecting our prices: mother nature and the stock exchange. We always look for the most sustainable way to source our food with an emphasis on organic and local. Unfortunately, due to our climate, it is much more sustainable to source certain produce and grocery items such as raisins and almonds from our southern neighbours- the Californians- than it is to produce them in greenhouses on our local farms.

Due to the drought in California and the current exchange rate, products we buy from the U.S. are increasing in price. Although Spud is taking a large hit on our margins to protect our customers from gross price jumps, we just wanted to let you know some of our products will be raising in price. A retail price increase on some Eat Live Be Happy products is inevitable. We are working hard to lower these prices as soon as possible- please bear with us in the mean time!

Wondering if your items are affected? Here’s what’s on the list:

Organic almonds, walnuts, cashews, pecans, hazelnuts, pistachios, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, flax seed, hemp seeds, chia seeds, thompson raisins, cranberries, and prunes
