We’re so happy to congratulate Corbin and his team in Edmonton on their Inclusive Employer Award!
Each year the Gateway Association recognizes leaders who are making a difference in the community and promoting the values of the community living movement.
This year, Spud Edmonton was honored with the Opus Award, which recognizes a business that has had a direct role in the transformation of a person who lives with a disability through meaningful, inclusive employment. It is awarded to an employer which demonstrates a working relationship founded on humility, acceptance, and a mentoring role, where both employer and employee learn from one another.
Corbin gratefully accepted the award, saying:
“Here at Spud, we thrive on the idea of inclusive employment. Having a direct role in the transformation of a person who lives with a disability though meaningful, comprehensive employment has brought us great joy. We are proud to announce that we have been granted the Opus Award from the Gateway Association. We are thankful that we have been recognized for our part in enriching the community by allowing those who live with a disability to thrive. At Spud, we recognize people as people, and we have been blown away by the positive, dedicated, and hard working individuals we have gotten to know, thanks to the Gateway Association.
Thank you for allowing us to support our community: together we can thrive!”
