5 Steps To Create The Perfect At-Home Pizza Party With Your Bubble

Pizza day was always my favourite day when I was in school, and now as an adult, it is my favourite meal to make at home. It is fun perfecting the perfect topping combination and experimenting with the perfectly cooked pizza’s exact timing.

While staying home, and keeping a safe 6 feet from people not in your bubble, having a pizza night at home can be a day the entire household is looking forward to.

Here are 5 steps to create the perfect at-home pizza party with your bubble.

Prep your dough at least a day before

Pizza dough is the most important, and there are sourdough pizza doughs, instant pizza dough, or our favourite Holy Napoli Pizza dough. Our friends at Holy Napoli say to thaw the dough in the fridge overnight. In the morning, place the dough in a bowl and cover tightly. Let is rest on your counter to proof for about 4 hours, you will know the dough is ready when it doubles in size!

To stretch the dough, place it on a lightly floured surface and gently press into a circle. Be sure to flip it several times adding little bits of flour if it gets too sticky. Once you have an 8-inch circle, drape the dough over your knuckles on both of your hands and slowly rotate it around, this will allow the dough to stretch with gravity! Be careful not to overwork the dough.

Gather your tools

There are two essentialperfect for pizza at home. The pizza stone makes for the perfect crispy crust and a pizza peel to slide the pizza onto and off the stone to burn your fingers! If you want to get serious about your pizza game, invest in a pizza wheel to cut your pizza!

Have all your topping ingredients chopped and divided

There are literally thousands of pizza toppings and combinations. Everything from a traditional Neapolitan pizza, the controversial ham and pineapple pizza to a Taco pizza and everything in between. Now is your time to get creative. What is your favourite pizza topping? Let us know in the comments below!

Make your sauce

I like to keep my pizza sauce simple. To make mine at home I simply take a can of tomatoes, some olive oil, salt and pepper, and a clove of garlic (optional!) and blend it together. It makes a lot, so when I am done with pizza night I put the leftovers in ice cube trays, freeze and use them again the next time I make pizzas at home.

Don’t forget the wine…or beer!

Classic Margherita goes perfectly with a Pinot Grigio. Load your pizza up with veggies, sip on a Chardonnay. Love pineapple on your pizza? Add a touch of sweetness with a Riesling. A meat lover? Pick a big bold red like a Syrah. More of beer drinking? Lightly hopped ales and lagers go well with any pizza, but try an IPA if you are into the all-meat pizzas.

Enjoy!

Bake your pizza as hot as you can! Place the pizza stone or pan into the oven and let it get up to temperature. This will create the crispy Neapolitan crust. Carefully put the pizza in the oven and let it bake for 5 to 7 minutes, or until it is cooked to your liking.
